| (1) SCHOOL SPACE EXPERIMENT OPPORTUNITY | NASA's Space Experiment
Module (SEM) program is currently offering the opportunity for schools
to fly experiments on the STS-95 Space Shuttle mission, scheduled for October

of Senator John Glenn, Jr. as a Payload Specialist. As the mission is scheduled
for this fall, there is a tight schedule as shown below:
The current solicitation is for both active (requiring battery power) and passive (unpowered) experiments. Visit the SEM homepage (see above) for more information on how to participate. |

(2) RETURN TO THE MOON ON THE WWW |
Moonlink is an educational program that allows middle and high school students to participate in the Lunar Prospector's 1-year survey of the moon. The Lunar Prospector spacecraft was launched on January 6, 1998 to map the moon's surface from a lunar orbit. Through the WWW, participating students can interact with the mission controllers and investigate a 150-km square area of the lunar surface. The program costs $450 for a team of 12 to 24 students. |
